dc.description.abstract | Electrodialysis is a mass separation process in which electrically charged membranes and an electrical potential difference are used to separate ionic species from an aqueous solution and other uncharged components. It is used for desalination of brackish water, production of portable water. Succinic acid is widely applicate in the food industry, agriculture and as a precursor of many chemical compounds such as 1,4-butanediol. It can be used to create a large array of chemicals including resins and biodegradable polymers as well as food additives. In this study, we used available reagent in the laboratory such as succinic acid, glycerol, lactose, ethanol, acetic acid, formic acid, lactic acid, and fumaric acid have been used for preparation of model solutions. Composition of the solution containing 7 components was the most similar to real post-fermentation broth. Equipment unit used including such as ultrafiltration, ionic tower, nanofiltration, electrodialysis with bipolar membrane. Analysis all sample using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) which is already available in laboratory analysis. Furthermore, the samples that have been analyzed using HPLC. All parameter include current density 90 A/m2 and 120 A/m2 ; flow rate 50 dm3 /h and 100 dm3 /h; initial concentration of succinic acid in concentrate chamber and diluate chamber (g/dm3 ). pH solution was adjusted to 8.5. The result described with lower current density current density and high flow rate have a good impact to produce 1kg of succinic acid. | en_US |
